The City of Beaufort Home Repair Program is designed to address urgent health and safety repairs for owner-occupied homes located within the city of Beaufort. The program is designed to assist low- to moderate-income homeowners in addressing critical health and safety repairs.
By investing in existing homes, the program helps preserve the region’s workforce and affordable housing stock and supports long-term community stability. The program is made possible by joint funding from the City of Beaufort ($150,000) and the Beaufort-Jasper Housing Trust, Inc. ($100,000). Eligible homeowners were able to apply and receive up to $50,000 in grant funding for home repairs. 23 total applications were received. Of those 23 applications, 6 applications have been approved (income qualified by a third-party and title research). If there is funding remaining from these projects, we will proceed with approving additional applications that are currently on the waitlist.
The application window for this funding is now closed. If funding is renewed for FY2027, we expect to re-open the application window in late summer-early fall 2026.
Below is a table that outlines the approved applications and proposed list of repairs at this time. Note that inspections are still ongoing and we are still awaiting quotes for repairs for many of the projects. All information is subject to change as repairs progress.
