The BJWSA Board recently approved a new local government partnership program that will provide a financial mechanism for public jurisdictions as they pursue priority projects. The new program will allow BJWSA the discretion to reserve $200,000 annually for local government partners to use toward the following applicable projects:

1) A Local Government’s project for the installation of water or sewer infrastructure;
2) An offset to water or sewer capacity fees or project fees for a public facility project;
3) An offset to current water or sewer capacity fees or project fees for the installation of water or sewer services for a workforce housing project; and
4) An offset to current water or sewer capacity fees or project fees for other projects as agreed upon in writing by BJWSA and the local government from time to time.
There are additional terms and conditions of the program.
Additionally, many local governments have existing banks of BJWSA capacity fee credits that can be used for fee offsets.
