As we reach the halfway point in the current grant cycle, the Beaufort-Jasper Housing Trust is proud to share the progress being made by our eight nonprofit partners. These organizations have been implementing the funds awarded to them for critical home repairs and first-time homebuyer assistance, helping to improve housing conditions and expand homeownership opportunities across our region.

To date, 40 homes have been repaired—each representing a family or individual now living more safely, securely, and comfortably in Beaufort or Jasper County. From replacing roofs and addressing substandard plumbing to improving accessibility for seniors and individuals with disabilities, these repairs are changing lives and preserving housing stock that might otherwise fall into disrepair.

In addition, 13 families have achieved the dream of homeownership through first-time homebuyer assistance made possible by these grants. This milestone not only provides stability and generational wealth-building opportunities for the families involved but also strengthens the fabric of our communities.

These accomplishments underscore the vital role of collaboration in addressing the region’s workforce and affordable housing needs. BJHT is deeply grateful to our nonprofit partners for their daily efforts and to the jurisdictions and supporters whose investments make this work possible.
